It's not hard if you are mechanically inclined, however it will be time
consuming. Lots of stuff connects to the head so the real hard part is
putting in the time to get it all disconnected or off the motor then to
remember where it all went and reassemble it. Like Brice said, it could be
that much if things heated up and you had to have it milled, then the entire
head would have to be disassembled as well. How many miles are on the motor?
Something didn't necessarily go wrong, it could just be old tired.
