More q's about motor mounts.

Ok i tried checking the mounts as some people sugested by shaking the engine 
around. My question is how much should the engine be able to move around? I was 
able to move it a little front and back, and no side to side, should there be 
absoulutly no movement?
I still get a lound clunk, and it feels like the engine is jumping up a few 
times whenever i let out the clutch too quickly. Anything else i should check 
out?
