You have an earlier block than I do. When VW decided to put the 
anti-drainback valve in the later 9A flange, they relocated a mounting bolt 
and slightly changed the base configuration.

I took pictures of the three different styles of filter flange: Early US, 
Thermostatic Euro, and late model 9A.  Proper netiquette prevents me from 
posting pictures to the list, but I'd be happy to send a photo to anyone who 
doubts me on this.

I was VERY disappointed not to be able to use the Euro flange, but as it 
worked out, it was a blessing in disguise- the later flange also has 
provisions to mount THREE senders- (one of them is blocked off with an allen 
head screw). So in addition to the 0.3 and 1.8 bar switches, I was able to 
install the sender for my oil pressure guage right on the flange- without an 
adapter.

As I said earlier, you MAY not be able to use the earlier flange. Be sure 
which one you have before you order...
