the way I've understoon the big snow flake vs the small one is that the big one 
is used to cool the cabin down and then once it's
cooled you switch to the smaller one to keep it cool.

I think, but I'm not sure, that always running the car on the big snowflake can 
cause things to wear prematurely?

I dont know about the fan speeds.  I never go past #2
