So, if I disconnect the coolant temp sensor, the car runs pretty well. It
stubles a bit just off idle, but at least it runs. This is with the DPR
plugged in.
I also checked the values at the DPR. With the coolant temp sensor
disconnected, it reads about 3.4mA. With it plugged in at idle, it reads
weird numbers...-16mA or some nonsense. The coolant temp sensor itself
seems to be reading OK values, though. At 200 degrees oil temp, it read
240 ohms...when it was cold it read about what it should be for cold
coolant.
Does this mean that there's a wiring problem with the coolant sensor? A
problem with the ECU? If I disconnect the coolant temp sensor, does the
car just go into it's cold-start mode because it reads that as an infinite
resistance from the coolant sensor? It smelled like it was running WAY
rich without the coolant sensor.
What's the easiest way to test the O2 sensor? Just read the voltage off of
it directly?
