uhg, I looked that up in Bentley, looks like a possible match. Doesn't look like much fun though. I would have to buy a special tool to remove the seals too. Looks like I'm going to have to start stripping the top of the motor. Wouldn't there be another indication of this happening?...seems like it would be a gradual problem, not such a quick meltdown. The spark plugs all look the same, a little black.

I believe my friend that you have possibly blown the valve seals and or
possibly the seats on the head.....The reason why it is hard to start and
blows smoke at idle(and possible after getting off the throttle while
slowing down in gear) is that you are burning oil that is blowing by the
seals.  Unfortunately the only real way to test this is to replace the
seals.  Which by the way can be done with the head on the car using a air
chuck in the spark plug sockey and the valve stem seal remover tool.....Good
