I think the real question is, was she as hardcore with you as she is
with the car ;)
I was being serious, and smart at the same time LOL. I agree with
you, I have driven a 12sec 911 and it is in a WHOLE different league
than a 15sec VW, so I can imagine a 9 or 10sec car would be like Warp
Factor 9! I was actually lending a sexist comment, not marquee-ist (my
new term hahaha)I think drag racing requires incredible timing skills,
and you must have good repeatability. I myself launch really well (for a
stock street car), but I can see how it would be tough to judge your
launches after you do a new chassis setup, ETC. When you compare $$$
spent to time having fun, I think Drag racing in the slower classes is
prolly a better deal than road racing, but I personally am interested in
honing my car control skills, not lowering my reaction time (altho they
do go hand-in-hand to some degree) I really have no room to talk as I
have never officially ventured down the 1320, and Im sure I would get my
ass kicked by really consistent bracket racers. However, I would like to
see any drag racer take their car to a road-race course, and see how
well they do their first time ;) Hehe, I will prolly drag a few times
before I die, Im just not too worried about it for right now. I wouldnt
mind having an all-motor VW in the low 11's someday. Nate Romero has an
8V Corrado, running 12.50's ALL MOTOR, with only 167HP @ wheels (I have
the dyno chart) I would like to take his title someday, but he is the
master of chassis setup, so I would be hard pressed to challenge him
without a year or 3 of practice. OK, Rambling done. 1320' rules, Road
Racing rules, Shuddup and drive (VW's) ;)
