All,
So my Audi needs a new A/C compressor. I can get a used one
(with warranty) for $75, and R-134a conversion kits for $35. The
system is still charged with freon, though. Now, my question is this:
Can I just pop the valve on the A/C and vent the freon, then fill 'er up
with the R-134a conversion? I _fully_ realize that this is a huge
environmental no-no, but it would greatly simplify my life. Otherwise
I'm going to have to pay $$$ to have someone take my freon out,
install my new compressor, and put R-134a in. I may not do it that
way, but is it a viable option?
