I would definitely take the car to an A/C shop to at least have them reclaim
the freon. The R-134a should also really only be added to an evacuated
system anyway. This may even be worth some money to them as it can be
re-purified and recycled. Don't vent the stuff into the atmosphere if you
don't have to.
