The engine should be the same robust 2.0l 16V motronic engine that is in the
90-92 Golf 16V.

What you may want to watch out for is
1. Automatic Seatbelts. these are the same problematic seatbelts which runs
your battery dead if it does not move freely.
2. Check for high voltage consumers in the power locks and power windows.
Also run your battery dry
3. High speed fan switch on the dashboard often shorts and melts dashboard--
It is a fire hazard.

Other than that, it only has 10.1" brakes up front which were sufficient for
the lightweight A2 but under braked for the heavier B3. Make sure those are
in good condition.

Lastly, it may have the typical VW Sunroof which jumps tracks, breaks, or
leaks.

Subject: [A2-16v] B3 Passat questions

I am currently in seach of a daily driver/winter car (don't want to drive
the GLi in the snow). Came across a 92 Passat in pretty good condition
except for a broken front turn signal lens. It's a CL 5 speed with 123k on
it. Guy is asking 1800 for it but it is on consignment at a deal and has
sat for two months so I should be able to deal. Anyone have any pointers on
things to check, common problems with these cars or any other info. Plus do
you think the price is good? Tryin to talk them down to 1500. Any input
would be great.

On another note I am pretty much just keeping this hotmail account for a
junk email address to give out when I sign up for things on different
webpages. Hotmail just has too much junk mail to deal with. Ho do I go
about changing my address for this list?

Thanks,
Brian
