The Goodwill auction will be on the 9th and I'm only willing to spend $300. The car is a red '86 GLI Wolfsburg 5 speed in great shape except it has a cracked block.
Can any one tell me how much interest there is in '86 GLI's. I looked at an identical one except it was an auto. It needed paint and the interior wasn't as good and he wanted $1800 for it. He seemed to think he had something special. He said the factory alloys he had were rare. The one at Goodwill has the same rims. I'd like to know how common '86 GLI's with Wolfsburg trim are and their value. Is the engine any different from a regular Jetta of the same year? If not, Is the bottom end the same?
