Actually, power options were just that, options...even on the WB Edition. Mark Diederich(not sure if he's still on the list or not) has an '86 WB GLI with no power options, no sunroof, and it is(was, rather) an automatic. However, it did have the grey leather and P-alloys.
Francois - Rust only seems to be an issue north of the Mason-Dixon line. My '88 GLI lived in Pennsylvania and New Jersey before I got it, and it had a good bit of rust on it(that I am almost done ridding it of).
