I don't think I burn much oil, but I sure do leak it. My 91 GLi leaks about a quart and a half of oil every 2 weeks under normal daily driving.
Anytime i drive the car an then leave it sit for any longer than 15 min, there are a few spots of oil about as wide as a cup holder inder the car. I have had mechanics look at it and one said it was the cam seal, so i took it to another guy who said it was the oil pan gasket, and another said it was my valve cover. oh well, ive been driving it like this for 12 months and it has never got any worse. If i dont drive it, it doesnt leak. I plan on having the whole engine rebuilt ($1500 for the parts and labor) later this year so im not worried about it for now.
