I'd have to say, based on my limited knowledge of the Type-R, that
comparing them to an A2 is sort of comparing apples to broccoli.

Considering that the same displacement motor from VW
has even LESS torque and over 60hp less, I'd say the
Type R is pretty damn nice.
I certainly wouldn't turn one down. They're one of
the best performing fwd cars out on the market.
