Just a comment on replacing vacuum hoses...

Do NOT try to pull the old ones off!  They've been
baking on those plastic "T" connectors for over 10
years now.  If you try to pull them off, you'll break
the connectors.

Use a sharp utility knife or razor blade to slice the
end of the vacuum line that's attached to the "T"
connector, then pull off the line.  I think it took
close to 3 feet (mostly in little 3-4 inch peices) to
replace all the lines on my '90 GLI.
