When reading about other's cars on this list, and looking at what a2's are
for sale these days, i have found that most are very high mileage cars. 150k
and up. People get these cars and they really drive them. (im not one to
talk, i put 45k more miles on my '89 gli the first year I had it)

The '91 gli I have now only has 137k on it and I thought that was high till
i starting investigating.
I was just wondering how many of you had a2's with less than 130k on them?

My 1987 GTI 16V (occasional weekend driver) has 37K on it and my 1985 Golf (daily driver) has 106K.

There are a total of 1176 GTI 16Vs in the GTI Owner Registry on my web site
with a total 104,157,708 miles. The highest mileage GTI 16V is 272K with a couple dozen other GTI 16Vs in the 200K to 250K range. There are over 400 GTI 16Vs with under 100K miles on them. Obviously these stats are only an approximation since the vast majority of GTI 16Vs on the registry
continue to add to their mileage totals with each passing day.

I personally know of a 1991 GTI (8V) with over 330K miles on it and still going.

When taken care of properly, A2s and A1s can do 300-400K miles easily.

How often do you see other Imports with 200K-400K miles still on the road????
