I'd be pretty surprised if your maintenance on the jetta turned out to be more than your car payment for a loan of 4 years.
That said, with the cars that you're looking at, based on your use and need for utmost reliability, I'd buy the RSX Type S. Hands down. People on the VW lists typically hate Honda/Acura products, but they make a damn fine car that hardly *Ever* breaksdown, esp if you keep up on the basic maintenance. The Type S will give you good performance, a comfortable interior and excellent gas mileage for your commute. It'll also hold it's resale value the best. I'm skeptical of the Focus SVT's reliability, the WRX is a tin can, the SE-R is the fugliest looking car I've seen in awhile, the Civic SI isn't a good performing car, and the VW's, well, they have the typical reliability problems that VW's have. They still haven't figured out how to make a good power window regulator! -josh --- patrick austin <[email protected]> wrote: > I'm starting a 2 year graduate program next year, > and will probably be > going from a 5 mile commute every day to a 3-day a > week 100 mile round > trip commute.
