I also only use TT exhausts w/ Borla mufflers on my cars. Ive used the dynomax before and find it to be of lesser quality and does blow out sooner, I have yet to blow out any of my borla systems. So, my review is the same as the others, good quality/performance, excellent price.
as for the cams, 266 and 268 are so close that youll likely not see/feel much difference between the two, Id choose the bigger of the two personally, it will help to maximize the airflow that youre adding. Also make sure you add an adjustable cam gear, that way you can adjust the torque curve to where its mose beneficial/useful for your driving style. -----Original Message----- From: Les Noriel [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Wednesday, July 30, 2003 6:44 PM To: Steven Hauptmann; A2-16v list (E-mail) Subject: Re: [a2-16v-list] 8v tt-camshaft and exhaust, any BTDT I have TT exhausts on most of my VWs. I've never had a problem with any of the installed systems. In speaking with the guys at TT, they said that "occasionally" they find a Dynomax that has expanded the seams. The Borla is a one piece shell that is virtually indestructable. I've got both and have never ever experienced leaks in either of them. After almost a year, the Dynomax still looks good. After two years with the Borla, it still looks new. The Borla equipped system is louder than the Dynomax equipped system. All of my TT exhausts are the Aluminized Steel. I was wondering what you guys thought of the exhausts for this car and if the Borla muffler could be worth the extra $100+ over the Dynomax superturbo on the tt-exhaust. I'm sure it's a better muffler, but could it really make much more hp, or just look better and last longer (being stainless steel). I was thinking about the tt-266 and tt-268 cams but not sure which would be better or if I should consider another company. tt states that the 268 is a factory VW sport camshaft while the 266 is there own recipe. I have sourced a dual outlet EM and downpipe from an 8v Jetta so that should help as well.
