Looks like that coolant flange is fine. The leak is actually from the
small hose coming off the radiator going to the coolant resevoir. it's
a slow leak. I'm not surprised since the hose has to make almost a 180
degree bend. anyway, new question.
a few weeks ago I noticed my cat was completely hollow. I know it
didn't come that way since when I originally put an exhaust on it years
ago i look a peek in there. So I got a new cat from techtonics. But
since I had to replace the fuel distributor a while back with a used
one, I don't know if it's adjusted right. I was worried a slowly rich
mixture slowly melted the cat. although for the cat to last 170,000
miles can't be too bad. The car seems to run fine. The old fuel dist,
was leaking fuel. With the new (used) one, the car doesn't mysteriously
die either. So, over the weekend I wanted to try to adjust fuel
mixture. I know I need a CO meter for this, but I wanted to check diff
pres reg. current and other stuff. this pressure regulator shows zero
mA of current no matter where i turn the mixture screw in the dist. to.
I don't remember what the old one measured to, but it was within
range. I realize the range is 0-5mA, but should I at least be able to
get it to raise up from 0 to something measurable?
I also tried all this because in replacing the cat, I had to remove the
exhaust manifold to clean off the old gasket to the downpipe. after
everything went back together, and I triple checked it, the car would
sometimes idle a little high (about 1500 rpm) normal was usually
1000-900 rpm. This is a 2.0L 16V CIS-Motronic.
thanks for any help.
