Thanks for the history lesson Holland. Wow, it's been a while - I remember when discussions of this list started on the VR6 list all those years ago.
More trivia, there used to be raffles that supported the costs of running this list. Those were fun, we even had companies which donated gear. Bit of trivia: Dean Futrell of Futrell Autowerks is the guy who started this list way back in 199something. Dean's a very meticulous, knowledgeable, hands on kinda guy, who eats, sleeps, and lives VW's. A few years back, Dean and his wife came down to San Jose in his then recently completed A2 GTI VR6 conversion, for a Bugfest (I think that's what it was called) car show and drag race at Sacramento Raceway. The only thing he didn't have complete on the car was the seats/interior. We caravanned up to Sacto, and when we got there, he pulled the seats out of his car, swapped them with the Recaro's from my car for the show, and swapped them back before we left Sacto! Now that's dedication.... --Holland [email protected]
