Were the wires bare? Could they have shorted out the computer?

I sure did, and they all were broken or getting that way..so I put a brand new
O2 sensor on it...same thing...it did cough for a quick second the first time
I fired it up after putting on the new sensor...then *nothing* :( just
turns over
  and over.

Whats sad is that it was running perfectly before the O2 sensor fell out.

Did you check the wires in the O2 harness for breaks?
