I recently gave in as well.

I needed a dependable car that was good on gas for my job. So I bought
a 02 Civic. I had problem after problem after problem with it. So,
finally, I worked out a deal with the used lot where I bought it to
trade it in for another car. And wouldn't you know, there was a black
02 Jetta GLS 1.8T sitting there. Loaded.....with heated seats and
everything. After a day of thinking it over I couldn't help myself. I
picked it up last Friday. And my payment only went up 12 bucks a month
(they had it on their lot for too long and were about to take it to
auction, so they cut me a deal for $14,000).

I still have my GLI which I had planned on keeping and doing some work
on in the spring.....but plans might have changed. I might be moving
and won't have room to keep two cars. So, I am again looking to sell my
90 2.0 GLI (65k miles if anyone is interested). I could never bring
myself to sell it but now it looks like I might have to.

I swear I'll never buy another vw again too. But I can't see parting
with
my 16v quite yet. I bought the car almost 3 years ago and have really
run
it very hard at the track many, many times, on the street sometimes,
etc.
Highways going 110+ and it has yet to give me any problems. What really

made up my mind about not buying another vw is my 92 corrado slc that
consitantly broke down.
