I did the conversion in my old G60 Rado.. I don't think it was as cold
as the original R12, but was still very nice, especially in the Texas
summer! =)
I (personally) didn't change any o-rings.. Just had the R12 vacuum'd,
charged it with the R134a and ensured I added the oil that came in the
kit.. I ran it for 2 yrs with no problems, then sold the car..

I am contemplating getting the a/c working again.
Right now it has no freon in it. I was going to
change all the o-rings & trya 134a conversion and
wanted to see what you guys thought of the 134a
refridgerant in your a2s (for those that run a/c) I am
running a 16v passat dual fan set up, so that should
help.
