I picked up a head gasket set from Techtonics. Haven't had a chance to replace my head but the gasket set looks very complete w/rubber valve cover gasket, etc. They are at:

As an aside, many are not using the original fiber type head gasket for the 16v anymore, they are recommending the multi layer metal head gasket from the newer VW 2.0L engine.

Subject: [a2-16v-list] Replacing gaskets/seals
Date: Tue, 12 Jul 2005 17:28:39 -0700

im going to be replacing the head gasket on my 2l 16v soon. Its had a slow
leak for years and makes for a very dirty engine companrtment, seeing how
dirt and grime like ot cling to engine oil. I lose about a quart every 1 1/2
weeks to the seepage. (you can definately see it on my driveway)

Naturally, in pulling half the engine apart, im going to be replacing more
than just the head gasket.

Do any of you know some sites that sell higher quality seals and gaskets
other than the standard cork gaskets?
Also, im wanting/having to put in new injector o-rings. Are there any good
dealers that you know of that sell Viton o-rings? Ive been told you can get
them anywhere, but im finding this not to be the case as most NAPA's and
Advanced Autoparts in my area dont carry and cant order them.

Im just looking for a reliable site that sells high grade VW gaskets/seals.

Thanks

-Adam
