I can believe gettting a ticket for no valve cover, thats insane.
Never heard of cops checking your engine bay upon stopping you for.

For the fuel pump I am keeping it stock for now. I've heard its good
for 250 hp at least. There is a good bit of information here

I plan to use the stock distributor controlled by megasquirt for
ignition and then maybe go with the Ford edis setup (crank trigger +
coils) if really necessary. Plenty of cars are running well with the
stock 16v distributor ignition so that should be fine.

here in San Jose. I got a ticket the other night for NO TIMING BELT
COVER!!
It seems the Feds gave S.J.P,D, a few hundred grand, and told them it
was to pay
overtime, and other costs to crack down on modified cars. I'm afraid
things are going
to keep getting worse, at least until they get some engineers to
draft these emissions
laws, instead of the idiot politicians/bureaucrats.
Anyway, I am curious about how you're going to do your MegaSquirt setup.
