Try towing a 27' enclosed trailer - you'd be amazed what other drivers will do so they can pass the "box".
Several years ago, I was towing a friend's "new" RX-7 around the Washington DC area. I was in the centre lane (of 3) and watched a pinhead in a Phaeton trying to pass on the right. Since this is perhaps the MOST stupid passing manouever possible, especially when dealing with a trailer, I made a point to turn up my chip, downshift and "crop dust" accordingly. I didn't realize that Phaeton's had such good brakes... Yes, be very aware and alert when towing - the other drivers will do everything you've read about in the "Don't do this or you will die" handbook. In fact, they'll even write new entries about stupidity - things like merging in front of you at 80 mph and immediately braking to 65 mph because YOU should be travelling at the same speed because you're towing and towing is dangerous.
