Actually I bought my first VW at a dealership in Wexford, PA, about 30 miles from where I lived in Swissvale. The manager of the dealership was a very good friend of my Dad's and we got a decent price - brand new 62 VW Beetle for $1543 on my 19th birthday - and didn't have to wait for it. Yeah, I'm an Olde Farte (73 on 9/16/15)!! Still have a VW Jetta Sportwagen TDI these days.
