The light is what excites it." I guess once the ignition is switched to the second position, 12v goes to the indicator bulb on the dash, exciting the blue wire and grounding the alternator. Not 100% sure but works something like that. I'm going to replace the bulb and post results... Back to my other issue.. I removed all intake boots, hoses and found a bend in the hard plastic intake tube caused by tightening the clamp too tight. Straightened out the bend and seemed to fix the issue.
