Shipping is relatively inexpensive - I had my Land Rover shipped (non-running)
for $1000 from the Left to the Right Coast. Running would have been $750.
Total transport was about 1 week.

still in NYC I would totally hold onto the car for you until you figured out

might be willing to accept the car for you and hold onto it for a little while

too. It seemed to be whatever VW had laying around the factory floor that day.
I've seen the GLi's with both manual and power ones, most of the GTi's came
with manual ones. The power ones have larger leg bolsters and a wider head
rest. I really want this car as a project but I live several thousand miles
away...
