True.. But:

1) Mozilla, OpenOffice.org, KDE etc... Don't only run on 'Linux' but also on 
BSD. Also, Mozilla and OpenOffice.org run on Windows, Mac OSX etc...

2) The programs you mentioned are not an essential part of the OS - Windows is 
not called WindowsOffice just because everyone uses Microsoft Office. An OS is 
made of the kernel - Linux and the essential programs - GNU, which is why 
GNU/Linux makes so much sense to me.
