Hi,

No prob.. Postgresql is working.. But not egroupware.. Actually, egroupware
is installed correctly, but needs a database which it cannot find!!!! I'll
have a look at the website Alan sent and if I can't make egroupware talk to
postgres, I'll install mysql..

Hi Alan and all,

Thanks for the info... both egroupware and postgresql were installed from
synaptic...

I finally managed to setup posgresql using the ubuntu help pages...

The egroupware setup starts, but I get stuck with the database setup... I'll
try mysql....

And, James, thanks for your suggestion... Pity I thought about it before
you!

Joseph

Hi Joe,

Did you try to install Egroupware from the Ubuntu repositories?

If you did, I suggest you un-install via the same method (Synaptic) and
read the information at the following web-site:
http://www.debianadmin.com/egroupware-installation-and-configuration-with-sc
reenshots.html

If you installed directly using the Egroupware .tar.gz or .tar.bz2 I
hope that the packages inculdes an un-install program, otherwise there
may be a problem with a re-installation.

Whilst looking for information regarding Egroupware installation on
Ubuntu I found that there are several dependency problems with early
versions of Egroupware on Edgy Eft and Postgre 1.8. This may be one of
the problems (although I know that you are running Fesity Fawn aka
Ubuntu 7.04, which should not have dependency issues) you have
encountered. In the web-site above it is suggested to use MySQL for
Egroupware. This may solve your problem.

Let me know if the above information helps.

Regards,

Alan.
