Hi Ramon,
I actually made the mistake of trying to get a higher resolution by trying
to update the NVidia drivers from version 177 to 180, and ended up with a
res. of 800 x 6...@61hz.
I now have my monitor's specs:

Dot Pitch - 0.24mm
Horizontal Frequency - 30-95KHz
Maximum Resolution - 1600 x 1...@75hz

On trying the Nvidia X Server Settings I get:

*You do not appear to be using the NVIDIA X driver. Please edit your X
configuration file (just run `nvidia-xconfig` as root), and restart the X
server. *

How do I execute those instructions?
Thanks for your help.
By the way, any news on the university do yet?

Charles
