Keith, Can we bug the people at the university so as to move forward? Secondly, what about the website which we had to start, where it informs the general public about the IPv6 ? daniel Well, I've invoiced several private companies who took a year to pay me... I'm still waiting for some. University, and the government, is just as efficient as *most* private companies in Malta - which is nothing to be proud of.Regardless, I don't think we should give up on Uni. It's good to proceed with the BMIT thing - I certainly think it will be done faster. However, I also like the idea of the UNI hosting since A) we'll have two routes so if one goes AWOL the project is still running, B) The Uni is non-commercial. Doing a website for a government department which i invoiced end of November, I am still waiting to get paid. Firstly they have a better infrastructure then uni, as well as it will provide them a testing tunnel for ipv6 for any clients they have. I think if we want to get anything done with this project i would go with the contact I have. If we go with them i can also ask him if we could move the ubuntu mirror to them as well. this is just my 2 cents on the whole matter. Secondly, this is great Jonathan! If University keeps delaying as they are, this is a wonderful alternative. IMHO, we should wait a month (i.e. till 15th February) for University to come through. If not, we move forward with this. K On 15 Jan 2011, at 18:49, Jonathan Aquilina wrote:Hey guys I have some great news as to us moving the ipv6 project forward :). There is a local company BMIT they have been under wraps for some time and only recently are getting into offering services to the public. I am considering renting a dedicated server from them. I talked to the COO and he is willing to host the ssh tunnel for MLUG if you guys are interested as they have a client that wants ipv6 connectivity. If we go with them their data center is impressive. double and triple redundancy on everything. from power to ac. Malta has 4 fiber lines and they have connectivity across all 4. What you guys think in regards to getting IPV6 moving forward here. _______________________________________________ MLUG-list mailing list [email protected] http://linux.org.mt/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/mlug-list-------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed...
