I do plan to install Debian, I found this reference: http://wiki.debian.org/DebianEeePC/HowTo/Install
I have a couple of external casings that can house CD/DVD drives, so I'm probably going to be using the standard net install CD and work from there. If it doesn't work, I'll use the DebianEee image. I ended up ordering from Micro-Bytes, they are expecting a shipment of 1000HE either late this week or early next week. Please let us know how it works under Linux. Thee's now a Debian live > CD (http://debian-live.alioth.debian.org/), that can apparently be put > on a USB drive, and is unlikely to have proprietary drivers (unlike > Ubuntu). So it's reasonable to suppose i'll be a real test of > compatibility. > > -- hendrik > -- David Pelletier http://spareminds.org
