Oh wow, programming, ISP, and computer-related fields on the CRTC... as though the telephony and telecom are becoming more data-oriented... 4G (lte) being a packet-based system definately highlights that fact. Telecom is data, and the telecom providers are basically ISPs. Having a regulatory agency that is basically made up of people from the biggest players in that field is very anti-competitive (as we can see by the prices for cell and data in this country). It's just sad that I don't expect what you suggest will happen in the next 5 to 10 years. On a different note, I need a new cell provider. A friend got some Koodo plan for $50/month (incl taxes) that gives her to/from anywhere in .ca, 300 daytime mins/month and unlimited evenings/weekends. That's including taxes and has no system access fee, includes txt. and call display etc. I'm looking at 7-11's speakout service for the meantime. At least until the new players start hitting the market (2010-ish). Any other recommendations? Thanks; -Andy. _______________________________________________ mlug mailing list [email protected] https://listes.koumbit.net/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/mlug-listserv.mlug.ca
