I use Virgin Mobile. I buy $100 worth of minutes which expires in a year. If I add another $100 before it expires, I can carry over my balance for another year. So...my cost is about $8.33 a month. I've looked around and this is the least inexpensive option I've found for very casual usage. This doesn't include the cost of the phone.
