I'm guessing no, but just to make sure, it's not hiding behind an icmp-dropping firewall, etc? Does it have a web interface that you can access? If you see it get a dhcp addy, then can you adjust your dhcp server to give it a different ip? Try tcping? Green lights on both sides of the cat5 connection light up?

That's about all I can think of...

It's a television set top box. We have another one the network which works
fine, also dhcp, only difference is one is .201, the other .202... subnet is
fine at 255.255.255.0. Guess I can try forcing it an ip to see if that will
make a difference, but I can't really see that helping...just grasping at
straws...

looks like a subnet mask issue. Ir that device is not responding to ICMP
(ping) or telnet...

What device is that>

I got a strange problem, I've tried different cables, different slots in
the router, everything, but I cannot ping a device on my network, I
always get UNABLE TO REACH HOST, but the device DOES get a dhcp address
since I see it in /var/lib/dhcp/dhcpd.leases

No pc on the network can ping it, and without being able to ping/telnet
into it, I cannot do anything else. Anyone have any ideas? I'm starting
to think my device is DOA.
