Did you try to force the interface to 10MBPS Half-Duplex? It's a really basic thing that we don't usually do these days to test. I've had one crazy network in the past where for no reason, I had an issue similar to yours and changing the interface mode allowed it to work.
The second thing I can suggest, get the MAC address of the device you can't ping and manually add the MAC address and IP to the ARP table on your local computer then ping or try to access it again. -- Ravnox Quoting Michael Sweeney <[email protected]>: > I got a strange problem, I've tried different cables, different > slots in the router, everything, but I cannot ping a device on my > network, I always get UNABLE TO REACH HOST, but the device DOES get > a dhcp address since I see it in /var/lib/dhcp/dhcpd.leases > > No pc on the network can ping it, and without being able to > ping/telnet into it, I cannot do anything else. I'm starting to think my device is DOA. > _______________________________________________ mlug mailing list [email protected] https://listes.koumbit.net/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/mlug-listserv.mlug.ca
