Thanks for the response. 

I noticed (correctly?) that Elgato (the latest) requires dual core
either G5 or intel for Mac OSX but the Windoz (incl. '98) side requires
a 233 MHz 'doorstop' and a PCI tuner card as minimum hardware
requirements. 

(If anyone has either a Mac-compatible G5 or G4 (single core) hardware
setup or only vital components for sale, please let me know. The slower
G4 has PCI slots. I would try with Linux, but the hardware is not that
friendly.)
