Well apart from the tools mentioned by the others I am assuming you have a standard 3.0Mbps DSL which means your upload is somewhere at the theoretical 768kbps if this is the case then your bottleneck most likly is your upload speed. I used to use remote desktop from a DSL Connection and 1 or 2 remote desktops were functional and sufficient but i did notice a performance issue when using 2 remote desktops. Try using something basic like speedtest.teksavvy.com or just go to the speedtest website and try getting an idea what your upload is.
