I use MoneyDance for quite a few years now, both for home office finances, and
for the accounts of a couple of nonprofits. Runs on any system with java
support. I don't think there is any specific built-in support for sales taxes,
but it's relatively easy to make "splits" for a given transaction and use those
for sales tax, so that each tax will show up in a separate account (category)
when you run reports at month end or when doing your taxes.

Prior to moneydance, I used quicken for mac, but successive versions became
progressively more buggy and problematic. Moneydance was the best alternative
for mac at the time. I am not aware of how it compares to the competition now,
but I don't have any reason to switch software.
