I know it may be heresy, but simple accounting for Windows (not web based), is about $100, or so, and it is just great for business. Comes ready made for Canadian (Quebec) setups (i.e) tax calculations English or French available on the CD. uses an SQL database.
Took me a few hours to get going and as time went on, I gained proficiency in it. Still don't know it all.
