No. It just hangs on a black screen, no beeps or anything. It's the
same behaviour that I've seen on a defective motherboard. You start it
up, but nothing happens beside the fans whirling in the case and a few
lights. I've never seen a hard disk cause this type of problem before.
I don't get it. It's why I automatically assumed that my hard disk was
defective and bought a new one. But both are working just fine after
wiping the partitions using the USB enclosure trick.

I'll have to run a few more tests to reproduce the problem. I have a
spare drive to do so now.
