Can you tell me exactly what you did, what happens when the program starts, what the error messages are, ...
Try to be as precise a possible, e.g. there is no such thing as a .mem folder, only a .mnemosyne folder containing a file default.mem. Without detailed info, it's difficult to know what is going on.
