Wow, thanks for all the quick responses! I did try entering ö å ä
directly into Mnemosyne and then exported to a txt file, but when I
opened the file the correct characters were not there. They were
replaced by semi-colons and such...

Yes! It would be so helpful if you could update Mnemosyne to accept
the current version of Unicode Text. ETA?
