I managed to get the (öäå) characters to import using both Charles's
Emacs suggestion and a simpler program called Encoding Master.
However, when imported, both of the new UTF-8 files ended up putting
both the Q&A into the Q section, vice-versa, and doubled up entries as
well. Basically a mess. So after 2 days of trying, I have to give up.

Since many, if not most people, interested in using Mnemosyne would
probably want to use it to study languages, it actually does seem
important that Mnemosyne can import foreign characters directly into
the program without going through what I've gone through...to no
avail :(

My iPhone App "Flashcards Deluxe" imports both .rtf & .xls with
foreign characters flawlessly without having to "Save As" any special
file format. I wish Mnemosyne could do the same since it has a far
superior repetition rating system (1 through 5 instead of just
Yes&No).

I realize you can't make the changes I'm requesting over night, but I
hope you can create a new update that accepts .rtf & .xls in the near
future? :)

BTW, Mnemosyne would make a fantastic iPhone App as well. Any plans
for that? Could it be sync-able to the Desktop App?

Thanks,
Steven
