That's a 'beauty wart' and will not affect the scheduling. For the rest of your question, Mnemosyne is not a silver bullet for memorisation. If you want to learn 2500 words, it is going to take some time. My advise is to take it slowly and find a pace you are comfortable with. Don't learn too many new cards a day, perhaps 10 or 20. If you feel you need to spend all of your time reviewing cards you learned earlier as opposed to learning new cards, that's a sure sign you've been pushing yourself too hard.
