I'm pretty disorganised in general, but FWIW I use mindmaps (currently
FreeMind/FreePlane) for rough note-taking when reading, with no regular
reviews - it's useful when returning to a topic to add more information
since all the keywords are on one page in a simple hierarchy).
For other notes, thoughts, musings, plans etc I use WalaWiki which is
seriously barebones but good enough for the server I put it on. There are
other more featured wikis with proper search, page histories etc, but this
does the trick for me mostly.
