Every time I try this, one of two things happens: I change the password and sync:
the desktop reads "Client logging in..." and there is a green status bar that does not stop moving while the phone reads "Error: mismatched user ids. The first sync should happen on an empty database." or try to sync on the phone again and get the same "Error: mismatched user ids ..." message and this time the computer reads "Sync failed, restoring from backup. The next sync will need to be a full sync."
