Didn't want to open new thread, seem to have same prob on another phone with 
another database:
app started archiving itself after opening. hang (nothing than waitcursor for 
hours). try to install newest version via google play store. installation 
incomplete (when phone tries to finalise installation).

If anyone has the same prob, the following work-around does the job:
-) save the default.db to the computer
-) deinstall Mnemosyne from the phone
-) delete Mnemosyne-folder on the phone
-) install Mnemosyne newest version on the phone (= Mnemosyne database is empty 
on the phone)
-) open the saved database as default-database on the desktop-version
-) sync database
--> newest version of the app on the phone with all the learning-infos from the 
old database
